From the above table, It is very obvious the best 12 volt Milwaukee impact driver is the Milwaukee 2453-22 and the reasons are very clear.
As usual, we brought these 4 tough impact drivers to our analysis table and checked them out to the limits one-by-one and our result was quite interesting.
From the four, Milwaukee 2453-22 12V proved to be just a 18V impact driver in an M12 housing -there was literally nothing a 18V could do this 12V could not do. From unfastening tough lug nut to driving a big 4.5-inch screw into some old tight hard grain wood. This beast buried it 1/2 inch past the head in no time.
This M12 is a powerhouse that runs for a long period of time without your arm feeling heavy. This is because the weight is ideal at just 7.2lbs. Even a 7year old would use this impact driver without any problem. To complement that, it features a low speed to ensure child operator’s safety.
Also, the low speed proved this tool fit for tasks that require close attention and carefulness, like fixing a switch or fixing a doorknob. Every operation with this 12 volt Milwaukee impact driver was really smooth and run time was great. A good number of tasks were completed and the impact driver still felt unused with enough power to go another round. Thanks to the impressive Li-ion batteries that come with this tool -these batteries have one of the best charge time I have seen over my years of experience with power tools. (25-30-35 min max). Unlike some impact drivers whose batteries charge 25 mins but dilapidated in 1hr, this Milwaukee 2453-22 12V batteries ran a whole day with intense usage.
I haven’t always been a fan of 12V tools as they don’t have the kind of torque I desire for heavy duty tasks. I have been all about 18V or more. However, after checking out this particular 12 volt Milwaukee impact driver I now see why it gets more love than other 12V. This tool is an undercover 18V with a benefit of an adjustable torque that varies between 1200 in.lbs to 175 in.lbs. With this 175 in.lbs, you don’t have to worry when handling a delicate electrical task or installation.
The handle of this M12 is great too. It is more ergonomic and smaller than some other Milwaukee impact drivers which I have checked out too (12V and 18V). Well-positioned on the handle is the low/high range switch that gives an operator full control over a task. If you have a problem with bulky handles caused by bulky batteries then this tool is a safe haven because the batteries that come with it are very slim. This makes the tool fit into a holster as small as MagnoGrip 002-580 Magnetic Drill Holster – Left and Right. This is so unlike Milwaukee M18 line that gives elbow and wrist pain after an intense use as a result of the bigger handle. If you have used a Milwaukee M18, you would relate.
You would also love that the belt clip on this 12 volt Milwaukee impact driver is design to be on one side of the head rather than at the bottom like Makita. This gives a greater balance of the driver while hanging off your waist. I would strongly recommend this Milwaukee 2453-22 12V. I’m all about perfection, if I loved this beast, then you would love it too.
